It boasts a rich aroma and deep green hue. The young buds are left in the shade for 3-4 weeks, and after harvesting and drying, the stems and veins are removed from the leaves to create tencha tea. The tea is then ground into a powder using a stone mill or ball mill.

How to prepare matcha:
- Sift 3 grams of matcha powder into a bowl.
- Add 35 ml of hot water at a temperature between 70 and 80 degrees Celsius
- Pour water over the matcha, and whisk in M or W motions until foam appears using the chasin (whistle).
- Add the type of milk you prefer and enjoy the taste.
